Chef Sabrina Selected to WEL 2020!

Chef Sabrina Tinsley has been selected as a 2020 Fellow of the James Beard Foundation's Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (WEL)!

Now in its fourth year, the WEL program is part of the Foundation's broader Women's Leadership Programs presented by Audi and aims to support woman-identifying hospitality industry entrepreneurs, restaurant owners, and chefs in order to grow their careers and scale their businesses.

As the co-owner and Executive Chef of Osteria la Spiga, Sabrina Tinsley is honored to be a part of this talented and diverse group of women. “I have often been intrigued by this program, as it is specifically designed for women in the food and beverage industry to help them develop the skills necessary to expand their businesses and facilitate change. The WEL programs could not be more relevant for me right now, as I've come to the point in my career where professional development is necessary to progress, to better serve my community and to grow as a businesswoman. Though we are unable to gather in person due to the pandemic, the online course has been invigorating, and has challenged me to think outside the box about growth and finance, especially in our current environment.”

Sabrina is also grateful and impressed with the tremendous networking and coaching support available through the WEL program, which she says has solidified a strong support system of like-minded professionals that will endure throughout her career.

The Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (WEL) is taking place virtually from October 5 to November 19, and is part of the broader James Beard Foundation Women’s Leadership Programs, presented by Audi.
